Cholesterol -Lipitor (Generic)

Common Uses
Lipitor is used alongside dietary changes to lower blood cholesterol levels. High lipid levels can also be treated with Lipitor.

Contraindications
Do not take ATORVASTATIN (GENERIC LIPITOR) if:
• you have allergic reactions to any of its ingredients
• you have a liver disease that is currently active
• you are currently pregnant or breast-feeding

Side effects
Seek immediate medical advice from a doctor or pharmacist if any of the following side-effects occur:
Most severe:
Jaundice; allergic reactions; aching muscles or fatigue, especially with bodily discomfort or feverish symptoms.

Most common:
Infections (fever, chills, sore throat); headaches; flu-like symptoms; stomach pains; back pains; fatigue; diarrhea; indigestion; sinus inflammations; rashes; aching muscles; chest pains; nausea; bronchial inflammation; congestion; insomnia; lightheadedness; arthritis/swelling; urinary infections.

Additional information
Use Lipitor as instructed by your doctor, as there are many factors that could affect the recommended dose.

Make sure you adhere to the instructions of your doctor with regards to the dietary and exercise routine that is recommended with this medicine.
This medication can cause dizziness. Use caution performing other tasks that require mental alertness, such as driving.

Keep all lab appointments, as regular tests may be required.
Check with your doctor before stopping this medication or taking any additional medicines.
If you think you may have overdosed, contact your doctor immediately.
Should you miss a dose, take it immediately, unless it is close to your next dose, in which case, skip the dose and carry on with your scheduled doses.

Storage
Store in dry conditions at room temperature. Always keep medicines out of the reach of children.
