Common Uses
Celebrex is a pain reliever used in the treatment of arthritis, particularly inflammation of joints, tenderness and stiffness. It can also be used to treat other conditions as determined by a licensed physician.
Description
Celebrex is usually taken daily, according to how much discomfort the patient is experiencing. Only use as directed by your doctor. Never take more than the prescribed dose. Take with a meal or on its own. If you experience and stomach complaints, take with food.
Side Effects
Side effects can include diarrhea and nausea. Should symptoms persist, consult a doctor.The following unlikely side effects can include migraines, black/bloody stool, stomachache, dark urine and jaundice. Allergies can be serious and medical attention must be sought immediately. Symptoms may include respiratory problems, rashes, itchiness, or swelling of the limbs. Any problems not mentioned here must also be reported.
Cautions
Celebrex must not be taken if you are allergic to celecoxib, or any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as aspirin. Be sure to tell your doctor of any other drugs that you may be taking, or any medical history or present condition, before taking Celebrex. Extra caution must be taken before taking Celebrex if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, or if you are going to undergo surgery of any kind.
To avoid sever reactions to drug interactions, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist of any medications you are on, or plan to take before using Celebrex
Missed dose
Avoid missing doses. If you do miss a dose take one as soon as possible, unless you are close to your next scheduled medication, in which case, skip the missed dose and carry on with the next.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from children and pets. If possible, keep in a sealed container away from sunlight.
